Congress leaders, including Surendra Rajput and Dinesh Gundu Rao, criticized the statement, with Rao predicting a Congress victory in at least 20 seats in Karnataka. Congress MP Manickam Tagore also condemned the remarks. The DMK filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI), leading to the ECI directing the CEO of Karnataka to take immediate action on the complaint within 48 hours. A case was also registered against Karandlaje by the Madurai City Cyber Crime Police following a complaint by Thiyagarajan. The ECI has taken further steps to ensure compliance with its instructions, directing all State/UT Governments to remove unauthorized political advertisements.
