The Election Commission of India (ECI) has denied Congress leader Jairam Ramesh's request for a one-week extension to substantiate his claims of attempts to influence 150 District Magistrates (DMs) ahead of vote counting. The ECI has instead given Ramesh a deadline of 7 PM today to provide evidence supporting his allegations against Amit Shah. The poll panel has rejected the rigging charge, stating that no DM reported undue influence. This decision comes just before the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow.
