The Supreme Court of India, presided over by Chief Justice D.Y Chandrachud, has taken cognizance of a dispute involving judges at the Calcutta High Court. A five-judge bench will hear the matter, which has led to the issuance of notices to the state of West Bengal and the original petitioner in the High Court case. The Apex Court has stayed all further proceedings at the Calcutta High Court regarding the alleged irregularities in the issuance of reserved category certificates and scheduled the next hearing for January 29th.
