Apple Inc. has significantly increased its exports of iPhones from India, reaching a value of over $2 billion (Rs 16,500 crore) in the first two months of FY25. This figure represents 81% of the country's total iPhone production, which is valued at $2.6 billion. The surge in exports is largely attributed to the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme introduced by the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Foxconn Hon Hai, Apple's leading vendor, played a crucial role by contributing 65% of the total exports. Additionally, vendors have committed to producing $10.2 billion worth of iPhones under the PLI scheme in FY25.
