The Government of India has finalized the sale of the Air India building in Mumbai to the Government of Maharashtra for a total consideration of Rs 1,601 crore. This iconic 23-storey structure, located at Nariman Point, is being transferred from AI Assets Holding Company Ltd to the state government. Tuhin Kanta Pandey, the Secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), confirmed the transaction. Additionally, the Government of Maharashtra has agreed to waive certain dues as part of this deal.
