Air India has come under scrutiny after significant delays on its international flights, particularly AI 183 from Delhi to San Francisco on May 30 and AI 179 from Mumbai to San Francisco on May 24. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a notice to the airline, citing repeated incidences of passenger discomfort and failure to take due care of passengers. Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has taken strict cognizance of the situation. In response, Air India has apologised and offered a travel voucher of $350 (Rs 29,000) to over 200 passengers affected by the 30-hour delay of the Delhi-San Francisco flight. Additionally, there was a 20-hour flight delay that further exacerbated fliers' misery.
