A 62-year-old man, Maradikkal Ali Khan, from Maranchery near Ponnani in Malappuram, Kerala, tragically died after an upper berth in a train fell on him while he was sleeping. The incident occurred on June 15th while he was traveling onboard the Ernakulam – Hazrat Nizamuddin Millennium Express to Delhi. Indian Railways issued a clarification, stating that the mishap happened due to the berth not being properly chained. Ali Khan succumbed to his injuries on June 18th while undergoing treatment in a hospital in Hyderabad.
