The Winnipeg Jets defeated the San Jose Sharks 1-0 in a close game where Kaapo Kahkonen made impressive saves but was later shaken up. Mark Scheifele made a crucial sliding save to secure the shutout win. Connor Hellebuyck also had a strong performance with 18 saves. Rick Bowness made a strategic line shuffle during the game, demoting Nikolaj Ehlers to the fourth line. Despite the Sharks' efforts, they were unable to score against the Jets' solid defense.

Kahkonen shines, but the Sharks are shut out by stingy Winnipeg Jets as another center is injured. https://t.co/oZ4by9B9bW
#NHLJets HC Rick Bowness on the third-period line shuffle that saw Nikolaj Ehlers demoted to the fourth line, and Alex Iafallo promoted to his spot on the first: "I just didn't like what I was seeing from that top line."
Mark Scheifele's sliding save was massive, desperate and helped seal the 1-0 shutout win. Where did it come from? "A lot of mini-sticks. That was exactly what it was. I don’t think (Hellebuyck) knew where the puck was, so a defensive play comes out of me every once in a while."
Connor Hellebuyck had a good game and earned his shutout but Mark Scheifele had the save of the night. Bowness on Scheifele: "He's backchecking hard. He knew where to go. He kept the puck out of the net, so that's good, good for him. He's worked hard at both ends of the ice."
Rick Bowness said he didn't like what he was seeing from the Jets top line, hence the swap of Ehlers and Iafallo. I asked why, pointing to one giveaway in the third. He said it wasn't about the third period. That's as far as it went. I thought Ehlers had a good night.
Kahkonen said he cramped up at the end of the game. #SJSharks
Kahkonen speaking to the media postgame. "I am okay now." #SJSharks
A combined @NHLJets shutout from Connor Hellebuyck and Mark Scheifele tonight. 🙃 https://t.co/7xJFrPlACu
Kaapo Kahkonen was a stud yet again for the #SJSharks but was shaken up at the end of the 1-0 loss to #GoJetsGo. Read the recap on @TheHockeyNews.⤵️ https://t.co/U1pK9tPWVM https://t.co/U1pK9tPWVM
#NHLJets take a 1-0 win against the San Jose Sharks. Jets had their foot to the floor from the six-minute mark of the first onward. Couldn't get more than one but they take the two points. Third shutout of the season for Connor Hellebuyck. 18 saves.
Luke Kunin gets on the wrong side of Kyle Connor and takes a Sharks pass from behind the goal line just as Kaapo Kahkonen gets off the ice for an extra attacker. Kunin shoots high but is stopped by Hellebuyck.
#SJSharks G Kaapo Kahkonen exits the net and Luke Kunin comes up with a quality scoring chance with the extra attacker on the ice. Timeout called with 36.9 seconds to go.
Kaapo Kahkonen is hurt, it appears. He laboured to the bench. Couldn't really push off his left leg. He's been tremendous tonight.
Nikolaj Ehlers moved down to the fourth line. Alex Iafallo moves up to take his spot. #NHLJets
Looks like Nikolaj Ehlers and Alex Iafallo traded places for at least one shift here in the third period.
Kaapo Kahkonen's season high in saves so far this season is 44 (done three times). He could threaten that mark tonight as he's made 30 saves through 40 minutes. Sharks still down 1-0.
Morgan Barron's goal holds through two periods. Winnipeg leads 1-0 and carry a 31-11 lead in shots. Kaapo Kahkonen is having himself a night against a Jets team that has not finished well at all of late.
No goals scored in 2nd. #NHLJets still lead #SJSharks 1-0. SOG now 31-12 for Winnipeg. Save of the game made late in 2nd by Mark Scheifele off Anthony Duclair.
No goal. Scheifele's save stands.
The play is being reviewed. The rebound chance was stopped by the shin pad of #NHLJets C Mark Scheifele. Was the puck over the line when it hits the shin pad? That is what is being investigated. Anthony Duclair with the shot on the backhand.
That Mark Scheifele save might actually be a goal. It's being reviewed now.
Scheifele was diving behind Hellebuyck as Duclair tried to shoot it in He stopped it with his KNEE That was an incredible play https://t.co/sx083TKEMj
#SJSharks get a puck behind Connor Hellebuyck but Mark Scheifele is there to prevent it from going in. Late in the 2nd period.
Mark Scheifele with highway robbery, playing goalie like it was ministicks, robbing Anthony Duclair on the backhand with Connor Hellebuyck down and out
Mark Scheifele saves a goal, batting a puck out of the crease that was behind Hellebuyck.
Nino Niederreiter collecting breakaways like pogs but he's stopped twice on the same shift (and one more time on the rebound.) Still 1-0 Jets.
