In a hockey game between the Minnesota Wild and Nashville Predators, Jonas Brodin scores the game's first goal for the Wild, followed by Mark Jankowski tying it for the Predators. Kaprizov and O'Reilly each score, leading to a 3-3 tie. In overtime, Matt Boldy scores the game-winning goal for the Wild after a bold move by coach John Hynes to pull the goalie, risking a point but securing the win.
The dynamic duo is here! @RStanleyNHL & @joerexrode have ya covered the rest of the way. @Vol_Hoops head coach Rick Barnes joins us at 8:30! https://t.co/0MXsDRFMDc
We’ve sure got a whole lot to discuss tomorrow on Robby & @joerexrode! #NFL free agency was fast and furious today. What do we think of what the #Titans have done to this point? Plus #Vols head coach Rick Barnes joining us at 8:30 6-9 a.m. on @1025TheGame! https://t.co/iYFY4yoqUJ
It’s amazing the forethought that went into this decision. One thing I didn’t think of that Hynes noted today is that he waited til Preds’ top penalty killers weren’t on ice. Like he wouldn’t have done it with ROR/Josi, McDonagh out there. STORY>> https://t.co/QfZEbNS0lQ
Granato said his staff, & probably every team, discussed Minny OT goalie pull. “Every point matters but are you willing to risk giving up 2 points right there?” Said you have to weigh shootout (UPL just beat EDM for instance) and defenders on ice if they’re not PK guys. #Sabres
“Good thing we scored.” The #mnwild risked the point they’d already banked to go for two, and it worked. How and why this memorable finish happened: ⬇️⬇️⬇️ https://t.co/5D7wUZvAWb

Story up soon, but NHL Stats found two instances where a team lost its overtime point for pulling goalie in OT and being scored upon. It’s basically impossible to figure out how many times teams have tried it, but what the #mnwild did tonight is rare. And it worked! https://t.co/HZ23JPObdj
Tomorrow on Robby & @joerexrode… #Preds made some additions at the deadline and picked up 3 of 4 points this weekend. The #Vols got shot out of the gym by the Cats. Plus, #NFL free agency is upon us! @CoryCurtis2 at 8:00! 6-9 a.m. on @1025TheGame https://t.co/0j57Kva67f
I was today years old when I learned that in the NHL if you pull your goalie in overtime and lose you don't get the loser point
The @mnwild scored the overtime winner with an extra attacker that was not due to a delayed penalty. The last team to score a goal in that scenario was Los Angeles on Oct. 28, 2017 against Boston. #NHLStats: https://t.co/Rm4Bk2ReWe https://t.co/BXeMoaRqWr
A gutsy call, a clutch Fleury and feisty Foligno: Key Wild takeaways vs. Predators https://t.co/isEasofGxr
Here’s John Hynes’ comments on @KFAN1003 on the move to pull MAF in overtime. Says they had talked about it before. “1 point, no points, not gonna do us any good… we needed 2 points.” Also mentioned the timing of the move re: who NSH had on the ice vs who MIN had https://t.co/M3CiLr7OwI
Per NHL Stats, the #mnwild became the first team since #lakings vs. Boston on Oct. 28, 2017 to pull their goalie in OT (not on a delayed penalty) and score.

The Game Notes OT goalie pull. John Hynes is the winner. We were ahead of the trends. 👇 https://t.co/pfL7zJhyjJ
What a ballsy move that pays off for the Wild. This league is nuts right now. Can Minny claw back into a playoff picture??? https://t.co/0vIPhJSzgc
John Hynes with an all-time coaching move... and of course it was against the Preds. Incredible finish to a game in which Nashville saw its point streak extend to 12 games. https://t.co/poNC5nsUo7
#mnwild playing ♟️ … manufacturing a “PP”while #preds had not only 2 F’s on the ice in OT, but NON PK guys! https://t.co/ibBO6ABFvm
The #GameNotes crew knew the OT goalie pull would eventually hit the #NHL but nobody had John Hynes and the #MnWild being the first team to do it! @spittinchiclets @armdog @MikeGrinnell_ https://t.co/cvSnROiJJt
All of that aside, Nashville did well to earn a point. That was a tough, tough game, in what has been a fierce season battle with Minnesota all year. Really need to see a playoff series between those two sometime.
Boldy scores in OT, Wild recover to defeat Predators ⤵️ https://t.co/kET1KoxziM
Goalie pull in OT and 4 forward on the ice. Wow. Jon Hynes showing off some of that Dan Campbell DNA. https://t.co/ST3hyHOZTU
Boldy scores in OT, Wild recover to defeat Predators⤵️ https://t.co/kET1KoxziM
Eleven 3-point game for Matt Boldy. Also his second career OT goal and first since his buzzer beater at Jersey last March
Most of the #mnwild players had no idea — like myself — about the pulled goalie in OT and possibility of losing a point but John Hynes did. “We need two points. …One point, zero points, it’s not doing us any good. Two points is what we need.”
Matt Boldy (1-2—3) scored the overtime winner to record his 11th career three-point outing and moved within three of tying Marian Gaborik (14) for the most by an @mnwild skater before age 23. #NHLStats: https://t.co/Rm4Bk2ReWe https://t.co/BXeMoaRqWr
For those who don't know this rule - which made that #mnwild victory extremely ballsy. https://t.co/RiD0Ugv8K7
In OT, if you pull the goalie and get scored on, you lose the point already earned. https://t.co/j5kN7y1eBk
Ryan Hartman knew the OT rule and “love it” when asked about John Hynes’ guts
Minnesota, needing 2 points, pulled the goalie in OT. If the Predators had scored, the Wild would have got 0 points. What a gamble https://t.co/7VoNfOBSgy
What a savvy call by John Hynes! 🧠 https://t.co/q7YBCZoiPs https://t.co/3LVYOJev8K
Ryan O’Reilly said it was a “gutsy move” to pull Fleury in OT. Gave #mnwild a lot of credit. “They need the points.”
Fleury said John Hynes told him he may pull him for fourth skater after regulation. Says he’ll remember this win for a long, long time
The point streak continues at 12 games for the #Preds. Ballsy move by Minnesota to pull the goalie in OT to win 4-3. Nashville has a few days off before going back on the road to Winnipeg & Seattle.
Boldy said the OT strategy was discussed after regulation. When I told him #mnwild would have lost point in standings had Nashville scored, Boldy was shocked. “I did not know that. … Good thing we scored.”
Just learned that if you pull your goalie in OT and you lose, you lose the point. Wild. Pun intended. https://t.co/im4dVc3CnG
The Wild pulled their goalie in overtime and scored the game-winning goal moments later Innovation at its best @spittinchiclets https://t.co/bqd2tnyyAM
3-on-3 overtime, pull the goalie, four forwards, game winner. Amazing. https://t.co/ghWpjYxYzR
I've never seen this before... John Hynes with an outstanding coaching move, pulling Marc-Andre Fleury for the extra attacker in overtime. The Wild score on the Preds moments later, giving them an important 2nd point (they started the day 10 behind in the standings). https://t.co/mfFfykvu72

Among other things w/Hynes pulling Fleury, I think the Predators were stunned to be down a skater. Fleury was lurking far out of his goal every time the Wild had the puck. I didn't know if it was to involve himself in play, but clearly Hynes had told him he was going to pull him.
ONE TIME FOR MINNY 🚨 Matt Boldy scores the @SUBWAYCanada OT winner for the Wild! https://t.co/6Iz5crtntQ
JUST LIKE THAT MATT 🚨🚨🚨 OT WINNER #mnwild https://t.co/fIN0aTQQA6
BTW some cojones from John Hynes there pulling Fleury because if Nashville scored, #mnwild don’t get the point.
OMG I love what the #MNWild just did. Pulled Fleury in OT and scored on 4 on 3 to beat #Preds. And I’m pretty sure the rule is you lose your loser point if you give up a GW ENG. #Sabres gotta think about this one this week.
Some GIANT balls on Minnesota pulling the goalie in OT for the W! https://t.co/Lbww3AWnQa
MINNESOTA PULLED THE GOALIE IN 3-on-3 OT AND WON THE GAME 🤯 https://t.co/06zLovXLwr
What we just saw is not something that has happened too often in NHL history. If you pull your goalie for an extra attacker in overtime and get scored on, you lose the point https://t.co/yJaL2N7cbi
All things considered: that’s still a good weekend for the #Preds. Huge to get that game to OT to get the point.
Wild pull the goalie in a 3 on 3 OT and win, Boldy one timer https://t.co/Vi29BjZ83b
John Hynes pulling the goalie in overtime is such a baller move. And I’m even happier that it worked out for them so more coaches can be encouraged to do the same.
And they win. John Hynes with an incredible coaching moment. https://t.co/Rn3XJhjIoE
What a bold/awesome strategy from Minnesota to pull their goalie in 3v3 overtime, roll four forwards out there to score the game-winner. Huge two points won in such a cool way.
Matt Boldy rewards John Hynes for what was a gutsy call. Pull Fleury in overtime. I believe that means if the Predators score and win, the Wild doesn't get a point.
Oh wow, Wild pulling the goalie in 3 on 3!!
Boldy, OT winner. After #mnwild pull Fleury for extra attacker. Bold move there for sure.
MATT BOLDY WITH THE SNIPE OTW for #mnwild
Wild pulling Fleury. If Nashville scores, they lose the point
Ryan O’Reilly tied the game with 2:02 remaining in regulation, marking the second-latest game-tying goal by the @PredsNHL this season (Filip Forsberg: 59:22 on Nov. 20). Catch overtime on @NHL_On_TNT and @SportsonMax. #NHLStats: https://t.co/Rm4Bk2ReWe https://t.co/fW49ECBa8z

That’s a BIG point for the #Preds in the wild card race
What a huge goal by Ryan O’Reilly and what a massive point for the #Preds. Now, OT to see who will get the second one.
#mnwild and #preds go to OT. A tough point to give a team you're chasing, blowing a late third period lead
Nashville extends its point streak to 12 games, #mnwild to 4 as the squads head to OT.
Ryan O'Reilly ties it up. This Preds team doesn't quit.
Ryan O'Reilly. Tie game with 2:02 to go in the third.
Tied game. ROR through traffic and a screened Fleury. 2:02 to go. 5v5 resumes.
Ryan O'Reilly, power play goal, ties game at 3-3 with 2:02 to go
Hockey’s equivalent of a pick six right here. Beauvillier never saw Hartman, who read the centering pass perfectly. Wild lead the Preds 3-2 late https://t.co/Bv6eYBGBWd

Roses are red Oh hot damn That's a beauty breakaway goal From Ryan Hartman 3-2 Wild lead with 7:32 in regulation. Gorgeous backhander to the topshelf from Hartzy.
Former Predators forward Ryan Hartman scores on a breakaway to snap a 2-2 tie for his first goal in 20 games (Jan. 19). 7:32 left.
Ryan Hartman, what a move, 3-2. #mnwild with 7:32 to go

Per @JoeSmithNHL, and this deserves caps, THE LAST FIVE-ON-FIVE NON-EMPTY-NET GOAL SCORED BY THE #MNWILD BOTTOM SIX WAS FEB. 7 AT CHICAGO (FOLIGNO GWG). THAT WAS SIXTEEN (16) GAMES AGO! Absolutely unfathomable. That includes a 10-goal game vs. Canucks.
Juuse Saros stopped 4 shots in a row, but couldn't stop the 5th. Another scramble drill in front gets the Wild on the board.
Loose puck scramble in front and Kaprizov nets goal No. 31 of the season. Saros managed 3 pad saves before Kaprizov finally shoveled one in. 2-2 game.
After Saros robbed Boldy and Kaprizov had a backhander slide off his stick, he relentlessly dives for the puck and ties the score. Goal No. 31. One-line team. Great shift by the top line on the top PP unit
Puck bouncing around the crease, and Kirill Kaprizov finally wires it into an empty net with Saros out of position. 2-2
Kaprizov scores on power play, tying game 2-2. A mad scramble in crease and he knocks it in
Sunday Sweep‼️ Good 4-0 win for the @VandyBoys vs. Illinois State. ⚾️ Devin Futrell was fun to watch. Gets his 2️⃣nd complete game & 19th career win. ⚓️ Also joins this ⬇️ pretty impressive list of CG shutouts of the Corbin Era: https://t.co/cGD1hL2eKI
Period 1 observations from Predators-Wild. 1) Both teams sloppy in own zones and bailed out by goaltending a few times. 2) Wild clearly wants to show Nashville they won't back down. Two fights in the period. 3) Kaprizov has missed three breakaways in past two games. He's due.
I thought the #Preds did a good job of weathering the early storm from Minnesota. An even period for the most part. Preds had a few really good looks. Honestly, if they get a point out of today it's a good result. Two would make things awfully difficult for the Wild.
Fleury outstanding that period. Shots 11-11, but Preds had way too many point-blank chances. Wild forgot how to play in own zone that period. Brutal turnover by 97 led to the tying goal
#mnwild and #preds 1-1 after first period. Fleury a big reason why with several clutch stops. Brodin with goal for Minnesota
After 1 1-1 SOG 11-10 Wild
Kaprizov with a great chance there on breakaway, but Saros held his ground. Big stop.
Mark Jankowski elevates it and we're all tied up in Minnesota! 🪢 📺: @NHL_On_TNT & @SportsonMax ➡️ https://t.co/yWfPACsxJT https://t.co/XxEA6GoOQu
Mark Jankowski, who just signed a 2 year deal with the Preds, gets Nashville on the board. 1-1
Kieffer Sherwood picks off a Kaprizov drop pass and finds Mark Jankowski alone in the slot for the one-timer and it's 1-1.
A Kaprizov turnover behind the net and #preds make #mnwild pay right away https://t.co/PWfdh5vyEj
Nashville scores the equalizer soon after action is back to 5-on-5. Mark Jankowski all alone in front for a one-timer over Fleury. 1-1
So far Fleury has to fend off 3 1-on-1's SIX minutes into the game and stopped them all. Overplays in their own end have essentially given Nashville 3 partial breakaways. Probably should tighten up. Faber took a trip on the last one
Fleury has come up big early in this game. Several rushes by #Preds. Picking up where he left off in Arizona
Marc-Andre Fleury stops Gus Nyquist after he gets loose in the offensive zone, but #mnwild (Brock Faber) take a tripping penalty. Nashville to the power play.
Jonas Brodin crashes the net and pops in a loose puck up top and #mnwild snag a 1-0 lead.
#mnwild net the game's first goal: Jonas Brodin scoops up a loose puck after a scramble in front and wires it over Juuse Saros. But Predators taking a look.
Smart play there by Brodin, following up his own rebound, scooping up loose puck and finishing
Mad scramble and Jonas Brodin buries the rebound right after. 1-0 Should give Foligno an assist from the penalty box
Shift after Foligno fight, Brodin scores to make it 1-0
