In a closely contested NHL game, Nathan Walker, wearing No. 26, scored a game-tying wrister for the St. Louis Blues against the Colorado Avalanche, making the score 1-1. The goal was a result of a team effort, starting with Zack Bolduc intercepting an outlet pass from the Avalanche's zone. The Blues maintained possession in the offensive zone for nearly a minute, culminating in Scott Perunovich finding Walker, who had just come off the bench, in the left circle. Walker then took his time to fire a precise shot past the Avalanche's goaltender, Annunen, into the corner. This goal, Walker's 6th of the season, came after the Avalanche struggled to clear the puck from their defensive zone, allowing the Blues to capitalize on the extended possession.
Walker comes to play every night. He saw that was going to be a 50-50 race to the wall, turned on the jets and prepared for the hit. #stlblues
I swear I had a phone call and haven’t been typing since Walker’s game-tying goal. Nice wrister by Walker, his 6th goal of the season, after a good cross-ice feed from Perunovich, 1-1. Timely goal not to fall well behind the Avs early in this one. #stlblues
Walker's goal goes all the way back to Bolduc picking off Toews outlet from zone, #stlblues kept puck in zone for nearly a minute after before Perunovich pinching behind the net comes out and around finding Walker off the bench and he had time to pick his shot from left circle.
TIL Nathan Walker also wears No. 26 1-1
Nathan Walker throws a rocket into the corner past Annunen and ties the game up for the Blues. Avs could not clear the puck and change out #Avs #GoAvsGo @TheRinkColorado
That was a tough shift in the d-zone. Toews had the turnover to start, Duhaime had a chance to clear, but in the end, Walker ties the game up after the Avs were stuck in their end 30+ seconds.
Forecheck by Zack Bolduc sets up an extended offensive zone possession, and Nathan Walker rips one. Tied at 1.
