Dallas Stars forward Roope Hintz has been ruled out for Game 1 of the Western Conference Final against the Edmonton Oilers due to being day-to-day. Hintz's status improved as he skated and handled the puck, making him a game-time decision for Game 2, but ultimately, he did not play. Hintz remains a game-time decision for Game 3. Meanwhile, the Edmonton Oilers will see the return of forward Adam Henrique for Game 3 after he missed seven games with an ankle injury. Henrique's return means Ryan McLeod will be out of the lineup for Game 3. Dallas Stars coach Pete DeBoer and Edmonton Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch provided updates on their respective players.

For what it's worth, Roope Hintz came off the ice pretty early, with the regulars, after the Stars' morning skate. Typically, a scratch stays on the ice longer, as Hintz did before Game 2. Seems likely he's playing tonight.

Henrique in, McLeod out tonight. Bold decision by Knoblauch taking one of his fastest players out of the lineup. To me, compete level hasn’t been high enough, and hasn’t produced offensively, McLeod needs this message sent. Excellent on the PK but needs to engage.
