Jake Guentzel, a beloved player for the Pittsburgh Penguins, is leaving the team, causing deep sadness among fans and the organization. Known for his impact on and off the ice, Guentzel leaves behind a legacy as a Stanley Cup champion and a key figure in the team's history.
Spoke to Jake Guentzel’s family and teammate Sidney Crosby for this farewell piece to one of the best homegrown players in franchise history. Pittsburgh’s third-round draft pick became a Stanley Cup Champion and an NHL superstar, beloved within the organization and the city. 💛🖤 https://t.co/NYYPRCNZql
On Jake Guentzel, the last home grown talent on the greatest generation of Penguins hockey. He’s headed south, but while he was here, he became a giant in franchise history. My tribute to his time in Pittsburgh: https://t.co/mGY5bTeLm0
Sidney Crosby Offers Blunt Reaction to Penguins Trading Jake Guentzel to Hurricanes https://t.co/ZsafWwA5JE
Thread of my favorite Guentzel stories (1/4) In the 2017 playoffs, every time Jake and I talked before a game, he scored. Since he's superstitious like the captain, we kept chatting, and he ended up with 9 goals in 12 games during that run of good luck: https://t.co/cS9NmjqrtF https://t.co/kXf1UuwzMV
Jake Guentzel's impact in Pittsburgh won't fade anytime soon. On and off the ice, Guentzel was the real deal, the last homegrown great of an era. He will be missed, writes @JoshYohe_PGH. https://t.co/9OyhG3auw6 https://t.co/J8ScKVomav
Here is my ode to Jake Guentzel. He was a kid when he arrived in Pittsburgh. He leaves a father, a husband and a Stanley Cup champion. And make no mistake: He never wanted to leave. On Guentzel, an undersized player with the heart of a lion: https://t.co/mGY5bTeLm0
Two Stanley Cups. A lifetime of memories. Sidney Crosby knows what Jake Guentzel's impact was in Pittsburgh. Crosby was ready for the questions he had hoped to never answer Thursday night. ✍️ @Real_RobRossi https://t.co/kUdCL6W4Ra https://t.co/KhAQ0bw0wO
Jake Guentzel was the first homegrown Penguins superstar I got to cover from the very start. I remember taking his photo with a Blackberry at the 2013 draft 😂 what an incredible ride it’s been since then.
Can’t thank Jake Guentzel enough for all of the memories. He’ll be so missed by everyone here. In all my years with the Penguins, I’ve never seen a player - apart from maybe Marc-Andre Fleury - build such deep relationships throughout the whole organization. He’s like family.
Thank you @jakeguentz for your extraordinary career with my beloved #Pens. I’m destroyed about you leaving. It’s like a death in the family. Every Penguins fan wishes you the VERY BEST. #LetsGoPens
