In a recent NHL game, the Philadelphia Flyers led most of the way but were outplayed throughout, leading to an acknowledgment that they deserved to be trailing. The Pittsburgh Penguins experienced their worst game of the season, being out-skated and suffering an embarrassing own goal on a delayed penalty that allowed the Arizona Coyotes to take a 4-2 lead. Penguins' goalie Tristan Jarry lost track of the puck on another goal, and their blue line was criticized for being absent for most of the game. The Penguins only posed a scoring threat when captain Sidney Crosby was on the ice, ultimately leading to their first loss to the Coyotes since 2017.
“Oh my god.” The Penguins, after scoring an embarrassing own goal Monday night, lost to the Coyotes for the first time since 2017. “I should know better. I should not go backwards when there’s no goalie, I guess.” https://t.co/Vd5RNcukAb
Probably the worst game of the season for the Penguins. Been out-skated all game. Absurd own goal. Jarry didn't know where the puck was on another. Most of the blue line out to lunch all game. Only a threat to score when Sid is on the ice. Now it looks like they're giving up.
The Penguins score an own goal on a delayed penalty 😬 https://t.co/DfOK8e9KWs
Oh no... own goal for the Penguins on a delayed penalty call 😔 Arizona takes a 4-2 lead.
Honestly, the Flyers have been outplayed pretty much all game long, despite the fact that they led most of the way. They deserve to be down. Just far from their best effort all around.
