During a game, Marcus Johansson and Connor Dewar of #mnwild sustained injuries. Johansson was elbowed by Aaron Ekblad and had to leave the game. Dewar also left the game after colliding with Gustav Forsling. Marc-Andre Fleury also left the game, and it's unclear if he will play the next day. John Hynes, the coach, mentioned uncertainty about the extent of the injuries and the need for call-ups. Dewar is expected to be out for a couple of weeks. The team is set to finish their road trip on Sunday at Carolina, with no update on Fleury's status for the upcoming game.
#mnwild in Carolina tomorrow (Sunday). No update on Fleury status. https://t.co/pcQETqQ3ks
Dewar is expected to be out a couple weeks, so my guess likely return after bye/All Star. Unsure on Fleury’s status for tomorrow, whether callup needed #mnwild. https://t.co/YnoQpZxxqs
Here’s the Fleury injury. Apparently felt effects as game went on and wisely removed himself from the game https://t.co/Qp6fgIcDmy
More from Hynes on Fleury/Dewar injuries: "I don't know what the extent of both guys is going to be." #mnwild finish their road trip Sunday at Carolina.
#mnwild coach John Hynes didn't have an update on Marc-Andre Fleury and Connor Dewar post-game. Fleury pulled himself out of the game. Asked if the team will need to make call-ups, Hynes said, "I don't know. They could be good. They could be fine."
#mnwild John Hynes didn't have update on Fleury or Dewar. Fleury felt okay initially after early collision but then pulled himself out of game. Hynes didn't know yet whether they needed a callup for Dewar or Fleury
Connor Dewar (lower body) won't return either for #mnwild. Would imagine a few callups could be in store for Sunday's game in Raleigh
So to recap: Marc-Andre Fleury left game, Johansson to room after shoulder to head hit by Eklbad. Dewar also sidelined. #mnwild up 4-2
Marcus Johansson was down for a bit and is now being helped off the ice after taking a big hit up high from Aaron Ekblad. Ekblad was called for elbowing, even though that hit was all shoulder.
Johansson is down the tunnel after getting elbowed by Aaron Ekblad.
#mnwild also got a bench minor from that last incident. Bench is looking very shorthanded with Brandon Duhaime/Mats Zuccarello serving those penalties, Marc-Andre Fleury not on the bench & Connor Dewar hasn't returned from falling to the ice after colliding with Gustav Forsling
Not sure why Fleury came out, perhaps Hynes wants to rest him so he can start Sunday in Raleigh. We'll see.
