The Winnipeg Jets celebrated their first sold-out game of the season with a crowd of 15,225 by defeating the Minnesota Wild with a score of 4-2. Jets' Nino Niederreiter was instrumental in the victory, scoring two goals, while Alex Iafallo opened the scoring with the first goal. Wild's captain Jared Spurgeon returned after missing seven games due to a lower-body injury, and goalie Filip Gustavsson, who started the game, left with a similar injury. Ryan Hartman received a hooking penalty but later scored on a power play. The Wild's efforts included a notable save by Marc-Andre Fleury, but the team suffered as Kirill Kaprizov left the game. An Emergency Backup Goalie (EBUG) was sent to the Wild's room, indicating Gustavsson's injury.
Fleury to the Wild bench with a little over two minutes left. Lowry line with Pionk and Dillon out to defend
And Kaprizov not on the bench. https://t.co/uTYkfo1hRD
Kaprizov also out of the game for #mnwild stemming from the uncalled Dillon cross-checks. So two games in a row in Winnipeg where he was injured
Gustavsson sustained a lower-body injury, #mnwild announced. Jesper Wallstedt is still hurt in Iowa
Maybe Marc-Andre Fleury's acrobatic, hat-trick robbing save is just a bit of chapeau-related prologue. 4:44 left, 4-2 #NHLJets, and it seems likely they'll pull MAF before too long.
Filip Gustavsson left game due to lower body injury
#mnwild goaltender Filip Gustavsson (lower body) will not return to today's game.
So Ehlers now in Scheifele's spot. Scheifele moved down behind the net. PP not working so gotta do something.
#mnwild F Brandon Duhaime with the key shot block with his right leg during the #NHLJets power play.
The apparent Filip Gustavsson injury comes at a bad time. Heading into today, he was 8-2 under John Hynes with a .932 SV% and 1.87 GAA. The #mnwild in that span have the second-best save percentage in the NHL behind Winnipeg
Pat Maroon gives Winnipeg one more shot at its power play. Some nice looks earlier today, particularly when attacking from Ehlers' flank.
Pat Maroon is called for tripping Josh Morrissey. #NHLJets power play with another opportunity with 8:44 to go in the third period.
Mark Scheifele with a heck of a backcheck to tie up Ryan Hartman's stick after Hartman darted in behind the Jets' D all alone.

Nikolaj Ehlers with a good backcheck to stop a backdoor pass to Ryan Hartman on a Wild rush, then hits Hartman hard into the boards. It was Hartman's hit on Ehlers last April that kept Ehlers out of most of the playoffs.
Mark Scheifele hasn't had to do a lot to earn his four minutes of penalties today. He was reaching with his stick and I think Connor Dewar may have armpitted it a bit to help draw a call... ...Sometimes that gets called, often it doesn't.
Mark Scheifele called for hooking Connor Dewar. #mnwild on the power play with 2:09 to go in 2nd period.
#mnwild D Jacob Middleton is now called for holding Nikolaj Ehlers. #NHLJets to the power play with 9:16 to go. Neither of the holding minors assessed this period needed to be called, just disrupting the flow of the game and not much there on either of them.
Ryan Hartman gets the #mnwild on the board with six seconds lefft in the Mark Scheifele minor, converting on a tic-tac-toe play. #NHLJets lead is now 3-1 at 10:05 of the 2nd period.
Ryan Hartman not winning himself friends in Winnipeg. Puts away a cross-crease pass on the Wild power play to make it 3-1.

First period comes to a close. #NHLJets 2 #mnwild 0. SOG 13-9 for Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Jets third line outworks the Wild defence down low, and it ends up with Nino Niederreiter pouncing on the rebound for a 2-0 lead. 🚨 https://t.co/C8nghPM8Pd
Niederreiter finds a lose puck and pounces on a goalmouth drive...Wild killer. At least they got Victor Rask for him. 2-0
Nino Niederreiter has been full of fuel and fire, ornery early, and it's 2-0 #NHLJets because he drives the net to bury Adam Lowry's pass. Great board battle before that, too.
Nino Niederreiter battles his way to the blue paint and buries a loose puck. 2-0 #NHLJets at 14:38 of the first period. Adam Lowry with primary assist.
Connor Hellebuyck turned around on one shift and then gives the puck away on the next but Winnipeg's early afternoon puck luck continues: Minnesota can't find a goal and it's still 1-0 late in the 1st.
