Duchene: "The last two years I played here, things went pretty well. Personally, obviously two years ago, was the best year of my career. At the end of the day, obviously there wanted to be a total shift in direction I guess. I guess I was a casualty of that like half the team."
Matt Duchene on what it was like processing the Nashville buyout: "It was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I've said it many times, I've never cried so much in my life during that period. There was a lot going on, a lot family-related and personally. Yeah, it was tough.
Real talk: My convo with Matt Duchene was one of the most open I’ve had with an #NHL player. We went deep on his buyout, leaving #preds, joining #TexasHockey and bouncing back with an elite season. Frankly Speaking 🔊: https://t.co/NBxeJrUsZ4 Presented by @betwaycanada. https://t.co/tXoKQxPaTA
