Igor Shesterkin started as the goalie for the New York Rangers (NYR) against the San Jose Sharks. Throughout the game, he made several impressive saves, including a lunging save with his right pad and a diving play to snatch the puck off an opponent's stick. Despite a moment of discomfort after a stretch save, Shesterkin displayed strong performance throughout the game.
Igor just a stretch save on Burroughs and got up slowly, stretching his right leg immediately. Looked like he felt that one. #NYR
Igor Shesterkin with a nice save on Barabanov, then a few seconds later, snares the puck away from the Sharks winger without a stick. Igor looks locked in.
Igor Shesterkin with a couple big stops on Alexander Barabanov.. #NYR
Igor with a nice play to dive out of the crease and snatch the puck off Alexander Barbanov's stick. After the whistle was blown, he tossed the puck aside and skate away. Swaggiest thing we've seen from him in weeks. #NYR
Igor lost his stick, and had to dive out and use his catching glove to take the puck off Alexander Barabanov there. Big save. #NYR
Great look for Sharks D Kyle Burroughs from basically inside the #NYR crease. Had the open net, but someone shot it wide between Igor's back and the post.
Duclair was trying to win everyone some money, but Igor made a nice lunging save with the right pad to deny the breakaway chance. #NYR
