The Hurricanes outshot the Kraken throughout the game and had a strong start, leading 2-0 after the first period.
Hurricanes chipped away at their first-period scoring deficit in the first. Now 13-9 on the season. Away we go in the second.
Unfortunately, there have been a few games this season where it's felt like the #Canes could have been down by three or four after 20 minutes. Tonight is the other side of the coin. They're up on San Jose 2-0 after 20, but it feels like they could have many more. Great start.
It would be tough to ask for a better start, realistically, than what the #Canes have produced in the first 10:08. They've got jump to their game, they've got the first goal, they're getting chances, and they've already got a big save from their netminder. https://t.co/D0S2xTwfIF

Martin Necas, overtiiiiiiiiiiiiiime winner! #Canes top Seattle, 3-2!
2-2 after 60 in Carolina. Second straight OT awaits for #SeaKraken
The #Canes continue surging as the third rolls along. They're now up 38-22 in the shots department. It's felt for quite some time that they've been knocking on the door of the equalizer. They've got under seven minutes to find one though. https://t.co/c59YPceyt9
Eight minutes into the third period and the #SEAKraken have zero shots this frame. Probably need a tad more pressure on the home team, protecting this 2-1 lead. #NHL https://t.co/uTxu8AsXwB
40 minutes down, 20 (or more) to go. It remains 2-1 in favor of Seattle after a scoreless second period. The #Canes were the better team that frame and I don't think it was particularly close. The Kraken had some early pressure, but aside from their PP chance, not much.
The #Canes are starting to build a game as they get into the middle stages of the second period. They're now doubling Seattle in shots, 24-12, and it feels like the next one is coming. However, we've seen the Kraken strike in a flash already tonight. https://t.co/u3yZDr1GSb
2-1 after 20 minutes at PNC Arena. It's amazing the #Canes wound up with 16 shots after it felt like they were too passive for most of that frame. Thankfully, they got one to go before the end of the period, instead of going back to the room down by a pair.
Carolina on the board with 1:38 to go in 1st. After some sustained pressure, puck comes out to Martin Necas in front and he jams it by Daccord. #SEAKraken still up 2-1. #NHL https://t.co/HXp3ySbn92
The #Canes get one back! Martin Necas has his third of the year. A Kraken defender blows a tire after an attempted reset from Daccord and the home side cashes in. 2-1 with 1:38 left in the first.
2-0 #SeaKraken Devin Shore capitalizes on Bjorkstrand's pass. Tremendous hand eye to gain possession off the pass. When Seattle can beat the D with their speed, they've got something https://t.co/09FO5L9xqZ
Devin Shore makes it 2-0 Kraken with 5:08 to go in the first. Gets sent in alone with a long dump pass by Bjorkstrand and then goes all Connor McDavid with the deke on Andersen. #SEAKraken #NHL https://t.co/0C7SOAoR1o
Well, that escalated quickly... Deviin Shore beats Sebgastian Aho up the ice, takes a stretch pass from Bjorkstrand (ceertified Canes-killer) and beats Freddie 5-hole for 2-0.
2-0, Seattle. Devin Shore slips behind the #Canes defense, knocks down the stretch pass out of mid-air, and buries on the breakaway. 5:08 to go in the opening period.
Oliver Bjorkstrand puts Kraken up 1-0 with 8:36 to go in the 1st. Puts a nifty fake on defender Brent Burns and beats goalie Frederik Andersen with a wrister from the high slot. #SEAKraken #NHL https://t.co/QVgOrexgMF
Seattle claims the first goal of the night. Oliver Bjorkstrand takes Brent Burns one-on-one, cuts inside, and fires. 1-0 with 8:36 left in the first.
