The Philadelphia Flyers lost 5-2 to the Buffalo Sabres, with goalie Carter Hart leaving the game due to a mid-body injury. The Flyers played well overall but struggled to finish their chances. The injury to Hart puts the spotlight on backup goalie Sam Ersson, who is expected to fill in until Hart returns. The Flyers have recalled goalie Cal Petersen from the AHL as a precaution.

Some context on the injuries to Carter Hart and Sean Couturier. https://t.co/CQUGWFoB0Q
The Flyers gave two injury updates today: Carter Hart is day to day with a mid body injury Sean Couturier is day to day with a lower body injury

Sean Couturier is day-to-day for Philly. Carter Hart has a mid-body issue so they’re out tonight. Torts didn’t have any updates on them beyond that.
Carter Hart gets a day-to-day injury tag, per Flyers PR, and Sean Couturier is also day-to-day with a lower-body injury of his own.
Samuel Ersson will start for the Flyers, John Tortorella said. Sean Couturier is day to day with a lower-body injury. Carter Hart is also day to day, mid-body injury.
Sean Couturier, along with Carter Hart, is dealing with an injury. His is lower body and he's day to day. Carter Hart is also considered day to day with his mid-body injury.
The fact that the Flyers had to call up Cal Petersen speaks to why I've been critical of PHI's decision to keep 3 goalies for the first month. Presumably, they think Sandstrom > Petersen. Now they've had an injury & they can't use the No. 3 because he hasn't played for a month.

#Flyers recall G Cal Petersen. No word on Hart, who is out with a mid-body injury.
Carter Hart is the latest Flyer to hit the shelf, as Cal Petersen is recalled https://t.co/zv5Kx2sgBq
Cal Petersen recalled from AHL, so assume Carter Hart is going to miss some time. Felix Sandstrom continues his conditioning assignment. My guess is they'd recall him to play in place of Petersen if need be, because Petersen's numbers with the Phantoms aren't good. We'll see
Flyers have called up goalie Cal Petersen from Phantoms and have sent defenseman Victor Mete to Lehigh Valley. Carter Hart left Wednesday's game with mid-body injury. Flyers have a back-to-back this weekend: at Sabres on Friday and vs. Kings on Saturday. https://t.co/GTMoJZTdhv

And there's the empty netter. 5-2 Sabres. Flyers didn't play a bad game, especially over the final 40 minutes. Just couldn't finish on their chances. Big worry coming out of the game isn't the loss. It's the status of Carter Hart, who left with a "mid-body injury" in the 1st.
