The New Jersey Devils took an early lead against the Philadelphia Flyers, scoring first in the game. The Flyers managed to tie the game twice, with Ryan Poehling scoring both goals. The game went into overtime, where Owen Tippett scored the game-winning goal for the Flyers, securing a 3-2 victory. John Tortorella praised Poehling's performance and expressed the need to give him more ice time. Tippett also acknowledged Poehling's skill and performance.
Owen Tippett on Ryan Poehling: "He's been great all year. Obviously, when he gets those chances he shows off his skill and shot." #Flyers
John Tortorella on Ryan Poehling: *Pales (Poehling) has played himself in a position to demand more ice time. I think that does it for me is his skating, he can skate. I have to find a way to get him more ice time." #Flyers 📸: @NHLFlyers https://t.co/QuQNiyHYdf

Flyers stay hot, down Devils in OT https://t.co/dxqQdE8FeY https://t.co/LI2DxhRkK5
John Tortorella said this past weekend he needed to give Owen Tippett more minutes, well this is why. The guy can score goals, and clutch goals #Flyers
OWEN TIPPETT WITH THE STRIP AND THE OVERTIME GOAL!!! THE #FLYERS DOWN THE DEVILS!!! https://t.co/5eoiKRVO8O
Owen Tippett with the dramatic goal, and the Flyers find a way to take down the Devils in OT 3-2. What a fantastic defensive play, and then a hell of a shot.
Tippet!! Flyers beat the Devils in OT!
Flyers win it in OT
Going to overtime tied at 2 Flyers / Devils
The Devils are really pushing hard in the third. They've been the better team on the whole tonight, despite the Flyers' edge in shots on goal, and it's showing in this period. But all it takes it one breakdown, and the Flyers could head home with a win.
Flyers and Devils tied 2-2 at second intermission. The first meeting between these two teams went to OT. New Jersey won it thanks to the Hughes brothers. Six of the Flyers' last 10 games have gone past regulation.
Poehling 2, Devils 2 after two. #Flyers have an 18-12 shots advantage.
2-2 after 40 minutes of play. Nice push by the Flyers in the second, with Ryan Poehling(?) the big offensive gun. Devils still look to be controlling more of play at 5v5 to my eyes, but in the 2nd, when the Flyers did have o-zone possessions, they were legit dangerous.
Ryan Poehling with the goal from TK. Man Poehling is on fire with his second of the night 2-2. Torts loves Poehling
Poehling scores again and the Flyers have tied it again, 2-2
Flyers drew even with a nice connection between Ryan Poehling and Joel Farabee. But the Devils regained their lead about a minute and a half later on the power play after Scott Laughton was whistled for tripping. It's 2-1 New Jersey early in the second period.
Devils score on the PP, and they're back in the lead. 2-1. Bratt pounces on a loose puck in the crease and flips it past Ersson.
Flyers down 1-0 after 20 minutes. Pretty even period on the whole, but even aside from the score, I'd say the Devils had more dangerous flurries.
Devils strike first against the Flyers' fourth line and third defensive pair. New Jersey is 7-1-0 when scoring first this season.
Devils win the battle of the fourth lines, and take a 1-0 lead. Ristolainen -- who had a great game on Saturday -- coughed up the puck under heavy forechecking pressure to kick off the sequence.
