During a recent hockey game, tensions flared when Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning felt he was interfered with by Aaron Ekblad, leading to Stamkos starting a fight with Ekblad. Stamkos believed Ekblad took a dive after being whacked with a stick. In a separate incident 1:27 into the third period, Oliver Ekman-Larsson was involved in a skirmish after cross-checking Anthony Cirelli into the boards, which did not result in a penalty for Ekman-Larsson but did see Nick Cousins penalized for joining the fray late. The resulting penalties led to the Florida Panthers being short-handed and the Tampa Bay Lightning gaining a power play, with both Cousins and Ekman-Larsson, along with Cirelli, taking penalties after the trip that initiated the skirmish.
Stamkos thought he was interefered with when Ekblad knocked him to the ice, didn't like it, whacked Ekblad with the stick, felt Ekblad took a dive then started fighting with Ekblad . . . a lot going on therer
#FlaPanthers going to PK after Cousins, Ekman-Larsson and Cirelli took penalties in a skirmish started by an OEL trip 1:27 into the third.
Ekman-Larsson cross checks Cirelli from behind and Cirelli goes after him … the result is a #Bolts power play with two Panthers in the box and Cirelli in the box for roughing
Ekman-Larsson cross checked Cirelli in the numbers right into the boards and that gets everyone together in the corner. Don't think OEL is getting a penalty, but Cousins may be getting one for jumping in late.
Ekman-Larsson drills Hagel into the boards, and just like last week only the opposite, Cirelli has issue with the play and confronts OEL and a skirmish breaks out
