David Carle, head coach of the University of Denver (DU) Pioneers men's ice hockey team, has signed a multi-year contract extension to remain with the program. This decision comes after Carle attracted interest from several National Hockey League (NHL) teams, including the Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks, regarding vacant head coaching positions. Despite the NHL interest, Carle has chosen to continue his tenure at DU, removing himself from the current NHL coaching vacancy considerations. It was also noted that Carle was not a candidate for the Philadelphia Flyers coaching vacancy.
