J.T. Miller, a forward for the Vancouver Canucks, was benched in the second period of a game against the Nashville Predators after taking multiple penalties. However, he responded in the third period by scoring a key insurance goal. Miller was not made available to the media postgame. Canucks coach Rick Tocchet said that Miller had been playing excellent hockey but needed to be held accountable. Miller and Tocchet both apologized to each other during the intermission. Miller later commented that he was benched to cool off after taking bad penalties.
