Charlie McAvoy out of this game for a blatant shoulder to the head of Ekman-Larsson — and he’ll probably miss a few more for that one.
Panthers are officially going to a five-minute power play after McAvoy sent a check to the head of Oliver Ekman-Larsson. McAvoy has been assessed a match penalty and is done for the game.
#NHLBruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy just went from scoring game-tying goal to a hit to the head major/match penalty and potentially facing a fine/suspension. Bruins are now down two d-men with Matt Grzelcyk already exiting the game due to a upper-body injury. @BOSHockeyNow
Mad scramble in front of the Florida on a couple of near goals & it ends with Charlie McAvoy smoking Oliver Ekman-Larsson with a check to the head away from the puck. McAvoy gets a 5 minute major for an illegal check to the head.
Charlie McAvoy took Oliver Ekman-Larsson high hit to the head. Matthew Tkachuk is irate with McAvoy afterward. The referees are reviewing this one for a major penalty with 10:32 to go. OEL is on the bench and looks fine.
McAvoy gets a well-deserved misconduct. Match penalty for an illegal check to the head on OEL. https://t.co/EYa1NXVHka
