Novant Health has canceled a $320 million deal to acquire two hospitals from Community Health Systems (CHS) in North Carolina. The termination came after the 4th Circuit issued an injunction pending the final resolution of an appeal by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Novant's decision to scrap the agreement follows a strong hospital merger record maintained by the FTC.
