The Miami Marlins achieved their third consecutive shutout, marking the first time since 2005 that the franchise has accomplished this feat. On Friday night, in an 8-0 victory over the New York Mets, Jesús Luzardo and three relievers combined efforts to secure the win. Despite Luzardo entering the game with a 5.97 ERA, he led the team to dominate the skidding Mets, who have struggled offensively this season.

Jesus Luzardo is better than his numbers but, come on, he had a 5.97 ERA coming into this 8-0 win. It's really hard to be this non-competitive against the lowly Marlins this year. Getting ridiculous that the Mets' offense can be this feeble.
Shutout by the Marlins. This franchise is an embarrassment. #Mets
