A federal jury in Illinois has awarded $17.7 million in damages to major food manufacturing companies in a lawsuit against egg producers for conspiring to limit the supply of eggs in the U.S. Egg suppliers were ordered to pay the damages for price gouging in the 2000s. In a separate case, Bayer was ordered to pay $3.5 million in the latest Roundup weedkiller trial.
