Stripe to Acquire Crypto Wallet Firm Privy, Building on $1.1 B Bridge Deal

Stripe Inc. has reached an agreement to acquire Privy, a startup whose software lets companies embed self-custodial crypto wallets into their products. The companies did not disclose financial terms, and Privy will continue to operate as an independent product within Stripe’s platform.

Privy’s application-programming interfaces are used to manage about 75 million accounts across more than 1,000 developer teams and handle billions of transactions. The firm was last valued at roughly $230 million in a March 2025 funding round.

The takeover deepens Stripe’s foray into digital assets after its $1.1 billion purchase of stablecoin infrastructure provider Bridge eight months ago. By pairing Bridge’s stablecoin rails with Privy’s wallet technology, Stripe aims to offer merchants and developers an end-to-end suite for on-chain payments and other blockchain-based financial services.
