Trump's 'Project Homecoming' Offers Free Flights, $1,000 Bonus; Orders 20,000 More Officers for Deportations

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order launching the first-ever self-deportation program, aimed at encouraging illegal immigrants to leave the United States voluntarily. The initiative, named 'Project Homecoming,' offers incentives including free flights to any foreign country and an 'exit bonus' of $1,000 for those who choose to self-deport. The CBP One app, previously used for scheduling appointments at ports of entry, is now utilized to facilitate this program. Trump emphasized that illegal immigrants who remain in the U.S. will face severe penalties, including significant jail time, enormous financial penalties, confiscation of all property, garnishment of all wages, and sudden deportation at the discretion of the government. He urged illegal immigrants to use the CBP Home app to book their free flights. In addition to the self-deportation program, Trump has ordered the Department of Homeland Security, under the leadership of Secretary Kristi Noem, to increase its deportation force by at least 20,000 officers. This move is part of a broader effort to enforce immigration policies and facilitate the removal of those who do not comply with the new program. The government estimates that this approach will be 70% cheaper than traditional deportation methods.
