Thousands Protest Across Multiple Countries Demanding Sanctions Against Israel Over Gaza Actions

Thousands of protesters across multiple countries, including Canada, Pakistan, Türkiye, Iran, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, and Egypt, have taken to the streets to demonstrate against Israel's ongoing military actions in Gaza. The demonstrations, which have seen participants chanting slogans such as 'Free Palestine' and waving Palestinian flags, are calling for an end to the conflict and for sanctions against Israel. In Canada, a large rally demanded the cessation of the war on Gaza, the banning of arms exports, and the imposition of sanctions on Israel. In Pakistan, the protests were in support of Palestinians amidst Israel's continued attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip. Türkiye saw thousands rallying under the slogan 'Gaza is Dying! Rise Up!' with protests occurring in several provinces, including a significant march in Istanbul organized by the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation. Members of the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform staged a protest in front of the US Embassy in Ankara, carrying banners saying 'Baby-killer Israel' and 'People are dying in Gaza, humanity is dying worldwide.' In Iran, large rallies were held in cities like Qom, Arak, and Shiraz, condemning the Israeli actions in Gaza. In Europe, demonstrations took place in Milan, Italy, Gothenburg, Sweden, Zurich, Switzerland, and Paris, France, where protesters gathered to denounce what they described as genocide in Gaza. In Egypt, protesters gathered in front of the Journalists’ Syndicate in Cairo to show solidarity with Gaza and support for the Palestinian resistance. Within Gaza itself, a popular march was held in Beit Lahia in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, in support of the resistance and in solidarity with Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
