Rimac Group, the Croatian electric vehicle maker, has unveiled its new autonomous robotaxi prototype, named Verne. Developed by Project 3 Mobility, the vehicle, which is set to begin operations in 2026, is a two-seater and features Level 4 fully autonomous technology supplied by Mobileye. The Verne robotaxi includes a 43-inch widescreen display, a 17-speaker audio system, and spacious interiors. Named after French writer Jules Verne, the robotaxi will launch in Zagreb and expand to Germany and the U.K. The platform used for Verne is the same as that employed by Volkswagen Group for its self-driving VW ID Buzz. Rimac received 200 million euros from the European Union in 2021 to develop this technology.
