China has rapidly expanded its renewable energy capacity in 2024 and early 2025, setting new global records. The rapid expansion of China's renewable energy sector has sparked discussions about global energy subsidies and competitive dynamics, with some comparing China's solar subsidies to fossil fuel subsidies in the U.S., Russia, and Saudi Arabia.
