The NHL has launched a league-wide initiative to celebrate the best players from each franchise over the past 25 years by unveiling Quarter-Century Teams. Each team features a First and Second Team of six players, selected by NHL writers, broadcasters, and former players. Recent announcements include the Seattle Kraken and Minnesota Wild Quarter-Century Teams. The Kraken's selections, despite their brief history, highlight standout players such as Vince Dunn, Jared McCann, and Jordan Eberle. Dunn, a defenseman and former team MVP, has been a cornerstone for the Kraken, leading in assists and overall points. The Kraken's Second Team includes Jaden Schwartz, Matty Beniers, and Oliver Bjorkstrand, among others. The Wild's Quarter-Century Team includes forwards Marian Gaborik, Kirill Kaprizov, and Mikko Koivu, with Kaprizov leading the team in points this season despite being on injured reserve. Defensemen Jonas Brodin and Jared Spurgeon, both career-long Wild players, and goaltender Niklas Backstrom round out the Wild's First Team. The Wild's Second Team features players like Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. Fan voting for the NHL All Quarter-Century Team will begin in February. The initiative will continue with other franchises unveiling their selections in the coming days.
