Ian Machado Garry (16-1) has called out former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad (24-4) for a fight at Madison Square Garden in November. Garry stated, "I’m going to box the ears off you... Belal, learn from your last loss and never ever try and stand and bang with me," and described himself as the best in the division. Muhammad, who lost his title to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315 last month, responded, "I'll see you at MSG," signaling interest in the matchup. Muhammad's loss was attributed to a striking-heavy approach, and Garry referenced this in his challenge. Garry recently secured a win over Carlos Prates in April after suffering his only professional defeat to Shavkat Rakhmonov last year. The UFC has not officially announced the fight, but both fighters have publicly expressed interest in facing each other at the New York event.
