The Cleveland Browns concluded their three-day mandatory minicamp on 12 June with head coach Kevin Stefanski running modified, two-spotted drills to give snaps to all four quarterbacks vying for depth-chart positions. Veteran Joe Flacco continued to handle most first-team work, while rookie Dillon Gabriel intermittently directed the top and second units. Kenny Pickett delivered a red-zone touchdown to tight end Tre’ McKitty, and fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders finished the final two-minute period with the backups after earlier red-zone work that included a touchdown to tight end Brendan Bates. Sanders’ overall offseason showing has been notable: he completed 41 of 53 passes (77 percent) for roughly 400 yards, nine touchdowns and a single tipped-ball interception across organized team activities and minicamp, according to team practice statistics circulated on Thursday. The 22-year-old remained on the field for an additional 20 minutes after Wednesday’s session to run individual passing drills, an effort that has helped elevate his odds of starting above those of Pickett on at least one sports-prediction market. At wide receiver, offseason acquisition Diontae Johnson—who split the 2024 campaign among three clubs—told reporters “one bad year doesn’t define me” and pledged to “change that narrative” in Cleveland. Stefanski said the staff is focused on maximizing competition at every position before training camp opens next month.
