The New Orleans Saints have added free-agent running back Cam Akers to their roster, strengthening a backfield led by Alvin Kamara. Multiple reports confirmed the signing on 13 June. Akers, 25, won a Super Bowl ring with the Los Angeles Rams and most recently played for the Minnesota Vikings. Speaking after a tryout with New Orleans, he said, “I get to learn from AK, get to learn the offense from Joel [Thomas] … I’m only 25, still young, still got some tread on the tires. I’m looking to grow and better myself and also, of course, better this team.”
