Daily market recaps with key events, stock movements, and global influences
The Los Angeles Dodgers are considering transitioning Ben Casparius back to a starting pitcher role due to injuries in their pitching rotation, including Tony Gonsolin. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Casparius started the game against the San Diego Padres instead of the originally scheduled Justin Wrobleski. Casparius pitched four innings, allowing one run on three hits, walking two batters, and striking out two while throwing 54 pitches. Despite walking in the Padres' first run with bases loaded, Casparius managed to escape further damage by inducing a flyout from Fernando Tatis Jr. Roberts indicated that Casparius could be stretched out to start games as the Dodgers cope with their thin rotation, with Casparius currently able to pitch roughly three innings or 45 pitches per outing.
