Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reiterated Turkey's commitment to the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders. During a press conference in Ankara with Slovakia's Prime Minister, Erdoğan emphasized the need for the international community to ensure Israel fulfills its responsibilities regarding the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. He stated that Turkey will continue to support the Palestinian cause until the state is established. Erdoğan also highlighted the humanitarian efforts, announcing that Turkey would increase its aid to Gaza, reaching 100,000 tons, particularly ahead of Ramadan. He remarked on the significance of recent images from prisoner exchanges, indicating they reflect which side values human dignity.
