The Jammu and Kashmir government has declared all routes leading to the Amarnath cave shrine a no-flying zone from July 1 to August 10, 2025, as a security measure following a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam. The ban includes all unauthorized aerial activities such as drones, UAVs, balloons, and private aviation platforms. The directive was issued by the Union Territory's Home Department under the order of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. Exceptions to the no-fly zone are allowed only for medical evacuations and disaster management. Additionally, the Ministry of Home Affairs has prohibited helicopter services for this year's Amarnath Yatra, and the Amarnath Shrine Board has advised pilgrims accordingly.
