Recent polling by Instituto Paraná Pesquisas, conducted between May 31 and June 4 with 1,522 respondents and a margin of error of 2.6 percentage points, shows Celina Leão (PP), the current vice-governadora of the Distrito Federal, leading the race for the governorship in the 2026 elections. The same survey shows that Governor Ibaneis Rocha has a 59% approval rating among residents of the Distrito Federal, while 36.7% disapprove of his administration. His government is rated as 'ótima' or 'boa' by 40.7% of respondents, 'regular' by 29.6%, and 'ruim' or 'péssima' by 28.4%. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) faces significant disapproval in the Distrito Federal, with 62.6% of respondents expressing dissatisfaction with his government and 34.4% expressing approval. Additionally, 54.2% rate his administration as 'ruim' or 'péssima', while 21.6% consider it 'bom' or 'ótimo'. In hypothetical presidential matchups in the Distrito Federal, Jair Bolsonaro outperforms Lula, while Lula is statistically tied with other right-wing figures such as Michelle Bolsonaro, Tarcísio de Freitas, and Eduardo Bolsonaro.
