US Treasury Secretary Bessent said she expects to meet with senior Chinese officials in roughly three weeks, according to comments reported by the New York Post. In the same interview, Bessent argued that China’s roughly 30% share of worldwide manufacturing is already excessive and “can’t go higher,” underscoring Washington’s continued concern about the concentration of industrial capacity in the world’s second-largest economy.
