A Nassau County man allegedly orchestrated a murder-for-hire plot against a business associate amid a construction dispute. Prosecutors stated that the suspect promised an individual he believed to be a hitman $100,000 and 10 acres of land in India to kidnap, torture, extort millions from, and ultimately kill the victim. Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly described the plan as involving dismemberment of the victim, emphasizing the severity of the plot. Law enforcement intervened before the crime could be carried out, preventing harm to the intended target. The scheme reportedly included the use of burner phones and a clandestine drive-by of the victim's home. The suspect faces two felony charges related to the murder-for-hire conspiracy. Additionally, reports indicate that other Long Island homeowners have accused the contractor involved in the dispute of fraudulent practices. Separately, a Long Island man was fatally stabbed with a crowbar in front of his daughter, according to the District Attorney's office, though this incident appears unrelated to the murder-for-hire case.
