A fire broke out in Sector 18 of the Maha Kumbh Mela area in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on February 7, 2025. The blaze, which engulfed 22 tents and caused property damage worth ₹10 lakh, was swiftly brought under control by fire tenders and emergency teams. No casualties were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation, with initial suspicions pointing to an electrical short circuit. A second fire was also reported in Sector 5, near Khak Chowk, affecting the ISKCON camp. Authorities have temporarily cut off electricity in the affected areas as a precautionary measure. This marks the third fire incident at the Maha Kumbh Mela this year.
