Russia has commenced mass production of mobile nuclear-resistant bomb shelters, designated as 'KUB-M', capable of accommodating up to 54 individuals. These shelters are designed to withstand nuclear shockwaves and radiation, reflecting an increased emphasis on civil defense amid rising tensions. The initiative follows statements from Moscow's foreign ministry regarding the need for enhanced protective measures against potential nuclear threats. Additionally, local authorities in regions such as Lipetsk and Leningrad are taking steps to bolster existing shelter infrastructure, including the conversion of underground spaces into bomb shelters to ensure the safety of residents. This move is viewed as a direct response to escalating military threats, particularly from Western missile capabilities utilized in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine.
