At the 2025 Women's Ice Hockey Asia Cup held in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, the Iranian national junior women's ice hockey team secured the runner-up position after losing 4-2 to the Philippines in the final. The Iranian team had earlier defeated the United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, and India to reach the final. Meanwhile, the Indian women's ice hockey team won the bronze medal at the same tournament, finishing third with seven points in five matches after defeating the Kyrgyz Republic in a shootout. The Indian squad comprised 20 players, including 10 from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), nine from Leh, and one from Himachal Pradesh. Following the Asia Cup, the Indian junior women's hockey team began a European tour from June 8 to 17, 2025, playing five matches against teams from Belgium, Australia, and the Netherlands as part of their preparations for the FIH Junior Women's Hockey World Cup scheduled for December 2025. The tour started with a 3-2 victory over Belgium at the Hockey Centre of Excellence in Antwerp.
