Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has called for an urgent global summit focused on peace and the cessation of war, particularly in response to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. Maduro presented a letter proposing this international peace summit to world leaders including Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Xi Jinping. The initiative has received support from ALBA countries, which view the summit as a platform to help end hostilities in the region. Meanwhile, the European Parliament voted to include Venezuela on its list of countries considered high risk for money laundering and terrorist financing, a move that has prompted the Venezuelan National Assembly to urge Maduro to consider severing commercial ties with European companies. In reaction to these developments, Maduro activated the Gran Misión Madre Tierra Venezuela, a national environmental mission, and announced plans for a global ecosocialist congress scheduled for December. Additionally, Panama and Gibraltar were removed from the EU's list of high-risk fiscal jurisdictions, a decision welcomed by both territories. Venezuela has also accused the European Union of involvement in money laundering linked to drug trafficking, further straining relations between Caracas and Brussels.
