The Kolkata Metro has initiated the implementation of Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling on its East-West line, which is expected to enhance operational efficiency by enabling automatic train operations. This upgrade aims to save daily commuters approximately 90 minutes. However, there will be a 45-day suspension on certain services, specifically affecting the connection between Howrah and Sealdah. Concurrently, the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system is also undergoing significant changes, including the introduction of a new train control system and a shift in departure times as part of a billion-dollar project designed to improve rider experience and efficiency. BART riders may have already noticed some of these schedule adjustments.
