SpaceX achieved a milestone with the 500th launch of its Falcon 9 rocket on July 2, 2025, from Cape Canaveral. The launch, which took place around 1:29 a.m. ET, deployed 27 Starlink satellites as part of the Starlink 10-25 mission. The Falcon 9 booster B1067 completed its 29th flight and landing since 2021, setting a new record for the vehicle. The launch was visible from multiple locations in Florida, including the First Coast, Space Coast, and Volusia County, weather permitting. The event was part of a broader surge in commercial space activity, with the U.S. setting a new record of 21 commercial launches in June, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Additionally, SpaceX is planning to develop a private recreation complex called Project Echo near its Starlink factory in Bastrop, Texas, featuring amenities such as basketball and pickleball courts, picnic areas, and a floating kayak deck. The company also announced a firework display at Boca Chica Beach and is expanding its Starbase facility with a new Gigabay that may produce up to 1,000 Starship rockets annually. The Falcon 9 also recently launched the Eumetsat MTG S1 mission from Florida, advancing space exploration efforts.
