Apple Inc. has appointed Kim Vorrath, a 37-year company veteran, to a leadership role within its artificial intelligence and machine learning division. Vorrath, previously involved in major projects including the Apple Vision Pro and the original iPhone, will now focus on enhancing Siri and Apple's broader AI capabilities under the guidance of AI chief John Giannandrea. This move is seen as part of Apple's strategy to improve its AI offerings, particularly in response to competition from other tech giants in the AI space. Vorrath will serve as a top deputy to Giannandrea, overseeing several AI executives and contributing to the development of upcoming AI enhancements expected in the iOS 18.4 update.
