Venezuelan Prisoners Shout for Freedom in El Salvador Prison; Maduro Plans Repatriation, Blames María Corina Machado

Venezuelan detainees held in a high-security prison in El Salvador have been recorded shouting for freedom and signaling for help, according to video footage released by the far-right One America News Network. These detainees were transferred to El Salvador from the United States in March. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced plans to repatriate these prisoners back to Venezuela. Maduro also accused opposition politician María Corina Machado of being responsible for the kidnapping of migrants in El Salvador and pledged to reunify affected families. Meanwhile, federal authorities in El Salvador have reported that a violent gang, believed to be composed almost exclusively of former members of the Tren de Aragua criminal group, has been attacking rural areas of the country.
